Invitation to join the Mission to Israel on Robotics and Automation

CII is organizing a 'Mission to Israel on Robotics and Automation' on 19-22, March 2012 at Tel Aviv, Israel to explore the possibilities of business and technology tie-ups.

As you are aware, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry in India, partnering industry and government alike through advisory and consultative processes. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organization, playing a proactive role in India's development process.

CII takes forward the initiative in the field of Robotics and Automation through National Committee on Robotics & Automation. The overall objective of the Committee is to create a sustainable environment for the growth of robotics and automation industry in India. The activities of the committee includes promotion and support the technology performance, developing standards and guidelines for robotics in India and aligning them with international standards, assess the market demand for industries and advocate the value importance and imperative of industrial need for robotics & Automation.

Israel is one of the leading robotics nations in the world based on a strong commitment and high investment in science and technology. Israeli scientists have contributed to the advancement of agriculture, computer sciences, electronics, genetics, medicine, optics, solar energy, defense and various fields of engineering in the Robotics areas. Israel ranks fourth in the world in scientific activity as measured by the number of scientific publications per million citizens. Israel's percentage of the total number of scientific articles published worldwide is almost 10 times higher than its percentage of the world's population. Israel has leading Universities for Robotics research, Robotics companies and Robotics associations.

India and Israel have increased cooperation in military and intelligence ventures since the establishment of diplomatic relations. India is building closer ties with Israel in the areas of nanotechnology, information technology, water technology and biotechnology.

This mission would help to identify the strengths of Israeli institutes and industry in the field of Robotics and Automation. It is also an opportunity to work with Israel on technology collaborations and business tie ups. The mission program offers visits to industry and institutes to learn and adopt system integration techniques.
